Transport. The Midland Metro Alliance consists of the West Midlands Combined Authority, which owns West Midlands Metro. The Metro runs from Wolverhampton to Birmingham City Centre, being extended up to Five Ways and Edgbaston Village.

What Was The Client Looking For:

Midland Metro Alliance were looking for a security provider to service the new tram stops in Edgbaston, as part of the Westside Metro Extension, at Five Ways and Hagley Road, stopping at Edgbaston Village.

How Did Watch Systems Ltd Help:

Watch Systems Ltd project managed and installed two public space cameras, to cover the new tram stop areas, working closely with Colas Rail (part of Metro Midland Alliance). The two public space cameras are monitored locally by Edgbaston Estates Security, with a direct link to West Midlands Police, to provide the travelling public with confidence and reassurance.

The Results:

Watch Systems Ltd provided an efficient and effective service, despite operational difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic and continue to maintain the system for Midland Metro Alliance. With the tram works set to finish before the Commonwealth Games 2022, the public’s security has been enhanced travelling from the city centre to Edgbaston, via Five Ways and Edgbaston Village. As the cameras are monitored locally 24/7 with a direct link to West Midlands Police, the system is well connected to the heart of the city.
